Let's talk about Makeup

OK, maybe we can't all be as beautiful as that. But always remember two things: Every woman is already beautiful, and Every woman can be even more beautiful!
It's simply a question of appreciating yourself, highlighting your natural beauty to project your own self-image, letting it shine through, and then finding out what happens next! Remember: every woman defines her own beauty.
All women deserve to be appreciated, respected, and admired. When a woman improves her appearance, an amazing thing happens. People begin to pay attention to her, listen to her, seek her company, ask her opinion. She becomes more confident, and this makes her look even better! As her confidence grows, so does the respect she receives – at work, at home, everywhere. As her insecurity falls away, she becomes more daring, self-assured, courageous; she finds she can do anything. Her life improves in every way.
Here's, a step by step guild on how to do apply a personal makeup.

'

Step 1: Eye
Experts suggest applying eye makeup before any other, so eye shadow don’t fall onto concealer or foundation. Eyebrow and Shadow goes first, then liner, then mascara. (After you must have clean, tone and moisturised your skin ofcourse)
Step 2: Concealer
For Dark Circles and Spots. To counteract shadowy areas, use a finger to pat on a creamy cover-up that is a shade lighter than your skin (a concealer for blemishes follows).
Step 3: Foundation
If you need to minimize redness or discoloration, blend on a lightweight foundation sparingly with your fingers, sponge or professional brush, any which work best for you.
Step 4: Powder
Choose one to give your cover-ups staying power (a sheer powder follows, for those who prefer that option).
Bronzing powder
For a sun-inspired glow, concentrate on the tops of the cheekbones and the tip of the nose. You can use a loose foundation in a deep shade.
Step 5: Blush
Enliven a sallow or blah complexion with a color that is one shade brighter than you think you need, suggest experts.
Step 6: Lip colour
This goes on nearly last so you don’t smudge it while working on the rest of your face.
Lipstick
When you want the most finished, pulled-together look, pick a stick or a stain. Its rich pigments coat lips in a uniform color. (If you’re going bright or dark, apply with a brush for precision.)
Lip gloss
For the sheerest effect, go for gloss. It’s see-through and light-reflecting, so it makes lips look full. Avoid highly frosted formulas, which can look dated.
More Tips.
  • As much as you want to look sweet, radiant and confident in your makeup. Less is always more, don't over do it. You can look absolutely flawless without looking like someone else.  It better to look fresh and young than to look like a  ridiculous clown or masquerade. Lol.
  • And again, it is best to use a brown pencils or brow definer/filler that is as close as your natural brow colour to draw your brows. Please do not use RED or BLACK pencils.
  • Be very careful with the colours you choose. Colours from foundation to the least lipstick should be determined by the colour of your skin. Meaning, the lighter you are, the lighter the colours you should use and the darker you are, the darker the colours you should use.
  • When applying lipstick, ensure you line first your lip with a lip pencils of same colour with your lipstick, to cover up the dark part in your lip.
  • Go mild with you blush, In order to apply blush where it will be most flattering on you, first determine your face shape. Blush not only adds color, but also contours and defines your cheek bones. The way you apply your blush can accentuate your best features and also soften those that are perhaps too prominent.
  • In all, you can never go wrong with nude makeup, it's safer. Remember to always take off your makeup at night.
  • Always stay beautiful, Remain classy!
Products Recommendation.
For all your makeup needs, i strongly recommend our local product, specially formulated for women with colour.

How to care for your skin

Caring for your skin can never be over emphasized. To keep your face looking as youthful as possible, you need a proper skin care. Here, I show you how to properly cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize your skin while never leaving the house without at least 30 SPF sunscreen. How you care for your skin is utterly dependent on the type of skin you have.

Different Skin Type:

Normal Skin Type

A  normal skin type has good based formula. A pea-size amount of moisturizer is all you need, too much will overload the skin and can result in breakoutsased formula. A pea-size amount of moisturizer is all you need, too much will overload the skin and can result in breakoutsirculation and there will not be any trace of sebum (or oil) on the tissue. Normal skin is soft, with a smooth, even skin tone.

Normal skin is not too dry and not too oily. It has:

No or few imperfections
No severe sensitivity
Barely visible pores
A radiant complexion

Combination Skin Type

A combination skin type can be dry or normal in some areas and oily in others, such as the T-zone (nose, forehead, and chin). Many people have combination skin, which  may benefit from slightly different types of skin care in different areas.

Combination skin can produce:

Overly dilated pores
Blackheads
Shiny skin

Dry Skin Type

A dry skin type has a low level of sebum and does not maintain oil easily. Dry skin is often flaky and feels tight after being wiped. Gentle cleansing and a rich protective moisturiser for dry skin is essential to control that tight, uncomfortable feeling. It may be necessary to adjust your dry skin moisturiser for the changing seasons.

 Dry Skin can produce:

Almost invisible pores
Dull, rough complexion
Red patches
Less elasticity
More visible lines
When exposed to drying factors, skin can crack, peel, or become itchy, irritated, or inflamed. If your skin is very dry, it can become rough and scaly, especially on the backs of your hands, arms, and legs.

Dry skin may be caused or made worse by:

Genetic factors
Aging or hormonal changes
Weather such as wind, sun, or cold
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from tanning beds
Indoor heating
Long, hot baths and showers
Ingredients in soaps, cosmetics, or cleansers
Medications
Here are some tips for taking better care of dry skin:

Take shorter showers and baths, no more than once daily.
Use mild, gentle soaps or cleansers. Avoid deodorant soaps.
Don't scrub while bathing or drying.
Apply a rich moisturizer right after bathing. Ointments and creams may work better than lotions for dry skin but are often messier. Reapply as needed throughout the day.
Use a humidifier and don't let indoor temperatures get too hot.
Wear gloves when using cleaning agents, solvents, or household detergents.

Oily Skin Type

An oily skin type will leave blots of facial oil on the tissue, particularly from the cheeks, nose and forehead. This type of skin has overactive sebaceous glands, producing more oil than necessary. Oily skin can be caused by hereditary factors, diet, hormone levels, pregnancy, unsuitable cosmetics and stress, leading to acne flare ups and enlarged pores. It is vital to thoroughly clean the skin regularly with gentle, soap-free cleansers.

Oily skin can produce:

Enlarged pores
Dull or shiny, thick complexion
Blackheads, pimples, or other blemishes
Oiliness can change depending upon the time of year or the weather. Oily skin can be caused or made worse by:

Puberty or other hormonal imbalances
Stress
Exposure to heat or too much humidity
To take  care of oily skin:

Wash your skin no more than twice a day and after you perspire heavily.
Use a gentle cleanser and don't scrub.
Don't pick, pop, or squeeze pimples. This prolongs healing time.
Use products labeled as "noncomedogenic." They tend not to clog pores.

Sensitive Skin Type

If your skin is sensitive, try to find out what your triggers are so you can avoid them. Having a sensitive skin type can mean different things to different people. It can be caused by skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema or allergies. Sensitive skin can become inflamed and  irritated easily. It is important to choose the right skin care for sensitive skin because many cleansers and moisturisers contain ingredients that can cause an adverse reaction.

Sensitive skin can show up as:

Redness
Itching
Burning
Dryness
Five (5) Basic tips to care for your Skin

Cleansers

Use a cleanser twice per day, in the morning to clean and freshen the skin, and in the evenings to remove all traces of makeup. Use a cleanser designed for your skin type, and if you have very dry skin it is better you use a cream based cleanser while for oily skin one with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide is a good choice.

Toners

Toners are used after cleansing and before moisturizing, you use these to keep the skin feeling fresh and to remove any remaining traces of makeup, the toner is to help maintain your complexion and to remove all impurities left on your skin. I recommend using a toner once per day.

Mask

Face masks are a leave-on formula which you can use for a more intensive skincare routine. We recommend using a mask once per week, and opting for one designed for your skin. Masks are great for helping you solve common skin complaints such as overly dry skin or blemishes. All thiscan be done in te comfort of your home.

Exfoliate

Exfoliating buffs and remove away the dead skin cells to leave the skin looking smooth and blemish free.i talked about this the last time,it's as important as the makeup you wear on. Very gentle exfoliators can be used daily, whilst rougher formulas should only be used once or twice per week depending on your skin type. Combination skins will benefit most from daily exfoliating.

Moisturizer

It is a myth that oily skin types shouldn’t use moisturizer but it is not true. Every skin type needs to be hydrated (moisturized) , but you need to pick a moisturizer which is right for your skin. If you do have oily or combination skin, opt for an oil-free formula, and gels are also a better option than creams. For dry skin you can pick a richer, oil based formula. A pea-size amount of moisturizer is all you need, too will overload the skin and result to break out.
